Asus launches another device in the Indian market, the Asus Zenfone 3s Max. The device falls into the category of mid-tier segment, with impressive specifications like a massive 5000 mAh battery, which supports fast charging and gives the best battery backup battery backup in the market.

In terms of looks, the device looks pretty neat, however, the device still uses all plastic body, with metal paint on the top, which may not be the best available built quality for its price tag of  $220 or INR 14,999. All the ports are placed just like it’s predecessor, so if you are a Zenfone user getting used to this smartphone will not be a problem at all. Due to the massive 5000 mAh Li-Ion battery, the device feels bulky compared to other devices with same dimensions.

Let us run through it’s technical specifications to understand more about this battery monster.

The Asus Zenfone 3s Max is powered by Mediatek MT6750 Oct-core processor with Mali-T860MP2 GPU, paired with 3 GB LPDDR3 RAM and 32 GB internal storage with a dedicated SD card slot, which can accept micro SD cards up to 256 GB. In spite of the device costing slightly more than $200, it doesn’t have FHD resolution screen; instead it is packed with 720p 5.2 inch screen.

Moving towards the camera department, the device comes with a 13 MP main camera, which can record videos at max 1080p resolution, the front facing selfie camera is of 8 MP with fixed focus. The device is even equipped with a front facing finger print sensor, which can also enact as a device wakeup button.

Exciting bit about this device is that it runs on Android Nougat with custom UI on the top (ZEN UI), so at least in terms of OS it’s up to date. The micro USB on the device supports fast charging with USB on the go;  the device can also act as power bank, so it supports reverse charging. In addition, the 4G VoLte compatibility completes all necessary features required for the India market.
