Redmi Note 4 launched in China and India has huge differences. The Indian variant is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625; however, the Chinese variant is equipped with MTK Helio X20 SoC. Recent announcement from Xiaomi confirms that, they are launching 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage variant of the Redmi Note 4 in China for 1399 Yuan.
Even with respect to the built quality, the Chinese variant is built on rock solid metal unibody, however, the India iteration is slightly built using a combination of metal and plastic. Lets run through the specifications, to understand more about this device.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 sports a massive 5.5 inch IPS LCD display with 1080p resolution. This time the device is powered by MediaTek’s Deca-Core Helio X20 SoC (clocked up to 2.1 GHz), either 2 GB or 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB or 64 GB of internal storage (no 32 GB variant). Hybrid SIM card slot continues its hierarchy, where user can use two SIM cards or SIM card plus micro SD card.
Looking at the camera, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 now comes with a 13 MP main camera, which although is smaller in terms of pixel count, should still be able to produce far clearer images than Note 3’s 16 MP sensor with 1080p video recording capabilities. As for the front camera, the device packs same old 5 MP shooter with 720 p video recording capabilities.
If you are concerned about battery life, the device sports a mammoth 4100 mAh battery, with fast charging capabilities, and the device can be charged up to 50 percent in less than 45 minutes. Looking at the operating system, device runs on MIUI 8, which is built on the top of Android marshmallow, supporting additional tweaks and value added features.
Looking at the few changes in terms of design, the speakers are now moved from back side of the phone to bottom of phone, just like iPhones. Instead of using plastic caps at bottom and top for network connectivity, the device now comes with antenna bands like iPhones and other high-end devices making this smartphone much better than its competitors. Finger print sensor is located on the same spot as other Redmi devices.
The normal version costs 1199 Yuan, which offers 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage, and the 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage costs an additional 200 Yuan which is the best among any smartphone under $250.
