Artem Anisimov leaves game at Habs after Alex Radulov hit (Video)

Chicago Blackhawks first-line center Artem Anisimov was injured late in the first period of his team’s game against the Montreal Canadiens after Habs forward Alex Radulov hit into Anisimov’s leg.

After the play, where Radulov crunched the left knee of the Chicago pivot, Anisimov went down in pain. He stayed on the ice for several moments and needed help to get to his feet.

Ansimov was not on the bench at the start of the second period and the Blackhawks have yet to provide an injury update. Earlier in the game, Anisimov picked up an assist on a goal by Patrick Kane to set a new career high with 45 points in a single season. This ranks fifth on the Blackhawks overall this year.

Losing Anisimov would be devastating for the Blackhawks. The big Russian centers arguably the best line in hockey with Kane and Artemi Panarin on his wings and his two-way nature is a big reason why Kane and Panarin have been able to score at such high levels the last two years.

Anisimov also eats up a lot of minutes down the middle, ranking fourth amongst Blackhawks forward in average ice-time per-game at 18:01 per-contest heading into Tuesday.
