Former Baylor tight end Tre’Von Armstead was arrested in Las Vegas Monday on multiple charges.

As first reported by TMZ, Armstead is facing charges of domestic battery, resisting arrest and tampering with a law enforcement vehicle (damage less than $250). He is being held on $5,000 bond — $3,000 for the battery charge and $1,000 each for the other two charges.

TMZ’s report says the 22-year-old Armstead was viewed pushing a woman outside a Las Vegas hotel. He then allegedly resisted arrest and “kicked out the back window” of a police car after being apprehended.

Armstead played in 27 games for the Bears before being dismissed from the program in 2015. It was later revealed that Armstead and another ex-Baylor player were accused of rape in April 2013. Despite the allegation, Armstead suited up for the Bears until his dismissal for “violating team rules” in September 2015.

A lawsuit levied against Baylor in January says Waco Police “never even attempted to interview” Armstead or Shamycheal Chatman, the other player said to be involved in the alleged incident, after it was reported. Per KWTX, a police investigator said the alleged victim was “highly intoxicated” and “very elusive in her answers” and was initially “adamant that nothing had happened and that she had not been sexually assaulted.”

No charges were ever filed.
