Oppo R9s was launched a few months back in China. The device was available in different colors, including Red, Gold, Grey and Rose Gold. Recent leaks confirm that, the OEM is working on another variant of the same. Probably with more RAM and storage options.
This will be the first green colored smartphone, that comes with all metal unibody design. In terms of specifications, the device is likely to remain same. If we look clearly, the Oppo R9s is inspired by Apple iPhone, with all metal unibody design as well as placement of antenna bands.
The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC (A53, Octa Core), built on 14nm FinFET architecture, for energy-efficient process. The 4 GB LPDDR3 RAM, will take care of multitasking. 64 GB internal storage and 256 GB expandable capacity is standard. In terms of display, the device packs 1080p Super AMOLED screen, that measures 5.5 inch edge to edge and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Moving towards the camera department, the device houses a 16 MP(F/1.7), rear facing camera. This is capable of recording native 4K and 1080p videos at 30 fps; however, there is no stabilization (OIS or EIS), and the footage will be effected by jitters caused by the person handling. Even the low light photography will come out nicely, due to larger pixel size. The front facing camera is a 16 MP F/2.0 aperture lens, that can record a max of 1080p footage.
The Oppo R9s, packs a 3010 mAh Li-polimer, non user replaceable battery with fast charging technology via micro USB. USB OTG is also supported. The original model is priced at 450 Euros.
The original device was a well-balanced device, in terms of features and built quality. On the other hand, the device was priced slightly above its value. Even the green variant’s price will remain the same.
