No. 1 Star: Brad Marchand, Boston Bruins


Marchand scored a hat trick and added an assist to lead his team to a 6-3 win over the Vancouver Canucks. With the three goals, Marchand tied Pittsburgh Penguins forward Sidney Crosby for the NHL lead with 35. He also tied Crosby for second in points with 74. The Bruins have won 11 of their last 14 games to move within four points of the Ottawa Senators for second place in the Atlantic Division.


No. 2 Star: Jaccob Slavin, Carolina Hurricanes


The 22-year-old defenseman fired a hat trick in his team’s 8-4 win over the New York Islanders. Slavin also notched an assist for a four-point night. Before Monday, Slavin had two goals in his previous 65 games on the season. He became the first Carolina defenseman to record a hat trick since Joe Corvo on March 16, 2008.


No. 3 Star: Brayden Point, Tampa Bay Lightning


The rookie scored two goals on his 21st birthday to help Tampa to a 3-2 win over the New York Rangers. With the victory, the Lightning have now won four of their last five games and are now one point back of the Toronto Maple Leafs for the final Eastern Conference Wild Card spot. The two teams will play each other on March 16.
