Nobody is interested in feature phone these days. As they doesn’t suit in this modern era. However, Nokia made a bold move by launching the successor of Nostalgia, an indestructible super phone, the Nokia 3310. The new device borrows design language from its 16-year-old predecessor. The device now looks prettier, smaller. However, the old 3310 has its own charm.
The device is now available in colored display, a month-long stand by battery and rear facing 2 MP camera with a single tone LED flash. The device is powered by Nokia’s own S30 software, which comes with a built-in web browser, file manager as well as music and video player.
The device also supports SD card expandability, other than the built-in 16 MB memory. Nokia 3310 is available in Warm Red (Glossy), Dark Blue (Matte), Yellow (Glossy) and Grey (Matte). The device comes with dual SIM card slots, with 2.5G connectivity with Bluetooth 3.0 for the data transfer. There is no support for WiFi what so ever.
Even the evergreen Snake game is revamped with all new levels and colored design, developed by Game-loft. There still is a 3.5 mm headphone jack, which can be used to listen FM or AM as well as MP3 files from SD card. The device is powered by 1200 mAh Li-Ion user replaceable battery, with 22 hours of talk time and 51 hours of music play back.
The device retails at 49 Euros. Though we had a high expectation, this is what we get, from HMD Global. The VP of the HMD Global also said, this is the best they could come up with, in terms of looks as well as features. Though it does not make it as main device, this would be the best backup phone one could depend on at any given day. Nokia 3310 is probably a best feature phone launched in 2017, which still has a huge market in country like India.
