The story of Apple’s iPhone

123

2004 was the golden year for the smartphone industry. When the first iPhone was launched in Cupertino, USA, there was nothing new, but it was perfect in every aspect, starting from the camera to touchscreen display. Many failed attempts have been made by many OEM’s but none as perfect as this one.

Apple’s iPhone was powered by their own iOS, which has a tremendous market. If we look at the statistics, Apple’s iOS powered smartphone make up to 20 percent of total smartphones in the world.

The most notable smartphone was iPhone 4, which was launched after 4 years of original device, which boosted all new design language. The iPhone 5S was another milestone in terms of achievements. That was the first smartphone to feature finger print scanner and a 64 bit processor in the mobile platform. Today, most of the smartphones are powered by 64 bit processor, with RAM measuring up to 8 GB and storage options up to 256 GB.

Recent flagship smartphone from Apple, the iPhone 7, which is also a great device, but it has its own cons or negative aspects. First and foremost, the device sports fine craftsmanship, with futuristic design and hardware, which matches with any Android flagship smartphone. However, the OEM has sacrificed larger battery for a sleeker design.

To speak about cons, the Apple iPhone 7  has omitted 3.5 mm headphone jack, in favor of their own lightening port. If we look on its positive aspects, this feature makes it more future proof and helps to get on with latest technology. However, the industry didn’t accept this so well, as older accessories will no longer be in use.

Even though, the latest iPhone 7 is technically strong. One should also look at the fact that, by removing a basic feature like headphone jack does not serve the purpose of the device as perhaps it iss too early to implement wireless headphone, which requires separate charging as well.
