Wisconsin's upset of Villanova leaves one perfect bracket, busts a lot of Final Fours

And then there was one.

Wisconsin’s upset win over defending champion Villanova on Saturday left just one perfect bracket in the Yahoo Sports Tourney Pick’Em contest. The “Dario’s Delinquents”  bracket, which actually has eighth-seeded Wisconsin winning the entire tournament, is a spotless 34-for-34 so far.

A record 36 brackets made it through the first round without missing a pick; 22 of them were bounced when West Virginia beat Notre Dame in Saturday’s first game.

While Wisconsin kept Dario’s entry looking fresh, Villanova’s loss spilled a lot of red ink over many people’s picks. Nova was the second-most popular national champion pick with 15.9 percent of Yahoo users tabbing the Wildcats to repeat as champions. Nova twisted the knife even deeper to the 47.4 percent of users who picked the school to reach the Final Four.

Villanova’s departure helps the cause of the 41.3 percent of users who picked second-seeded Duke to get out of the East region. Only 1.1 percent of users believe Wisconsin will reach the Final Four.
