Xiaomi is all set to launch the successor of the original Redmi Pro. The Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 will be announced in a very short time. However, the availability of the device will be affected by the chipset used. In China, the device will be powered by Helio P25 Oct Core chipset. On the other hand, the Indian version will be powered by unannounced Qualcomm Snapdragon 660.
If we look at the comparison, the SD 660 chipset will be more powerful with better GPU as well. Other than the chipset, the two devices will be identical, with built quality as well as design aesthetics. Lets look at the technical specifications, to understand more about this device.
As, the device falls in the Note series, it will be housing a 5.5 inch OLED screen, along with a 2.5D curved glass on the top. Under the hood, the device will have either MTK P25 or SD 660, coupled with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage or 6 GB and 128 GB internal storage. Both models, will come with a Hybrid SIM slot, that accepts either 2 SIM card or an SD card and a SIM.
The Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 is most likely to retain its dual camera setup. There will be a 12 MP plus 5 MP camera setup with a 4k video recording capability, and a 5 MP front facing (fixed focus). The device is most likely to house a 4500 mAh Li-Ion, non user replaceable battery, with fast charging capability (via USB type C).
In terms of operating system, the device is most likely to be powered by MIUI V8.2, built on the top of Marshmallow, and most likely to receive Nougat in the upcoming weeks. If we look at the pricing, the entry-level model is most likely to be priced at CNY 1,599 ($231) and the top-tier will be sold at CNY 1,799 ($260). For this price tag, this is the best device that one can buy.
